FEEW INC is a nonprofit 501(c)3 Charitable Organization
Our founding project is creating computer labs for orphanages in the Philippines. Our organization uses repurposed and recycled computers to educate and empower the young and disenfranchised through technology.
Our first project involves setting up and supporting computer labs in orphanages worldwide. This includes books and supplies, internet access, and technical support. Bahay Maria orphanage in the Philippines is our first project. Below is a video about Bahay Maria.
About Bahay MariaMost of us in the United States are fortunate enough to have multiple computers under one roof. Some of us even have smart watches with powerful CPUs. We are lucky enough to be able to upgrade our devices frequently. Often the older devices have outlived their usefulness and gather dust in our closets. Such powerful devices that once were our portal to the knowledge and people of the world, are now useless. Or so you thought...
Although your old devices seem to serve no purpose to you anymore, they can become life changing tools to the multitude of people around the world who are less fortunate in many ways. Our discarded devices can be repurposed and tweaked to become useful once more. Thereby giving the less fortunate a chance to experience, learn, and benefit from humanities’ technological advances.
We need everyone's help ... what you do will always matter and mean something ...
Why Donate?CREATION AND SUPPORT OF COMPUTER LABS FOR ORPHANAGES
Our goal is to create fully supported computer labs. An end-to-end fully functional turn-key lab. The lab will facilitate computer-based learning and communication. Also, the lab will serve as a starting point for related STEM projects.
We acquire and refurbish old computers and repurpose the devices as educational tools for children in our target population. Open source software is installed when necessary to enhance the hardware's functionality.
We fund the required broadband internet connection to keep the lab connected to the world wide web.
Part of the implemenation is sourcing of both volunteer and paid computer/network maintainers and appropriate tutors. Creation of a web-based education portal and directory is also included.
